I’ve done quite a few cars for this customer and his family and now he’s got a new Kia Optima that is in desperate need of privacy and heat protection. So he made one call and we set up a time that would work with his schedule and Sunday was the best day for him, I had no problem being there early to let him enjoy the rest of his weekend with his family. He wanted the best film like I installed on his last car, so we used the CXP line from Suntek to give him a 56% heat blockage, plus some added privacy. He should be enjoying the difference already!
I have a customer that wants his modified widebody Mazda miata wrapped in blue chrome, he has one of the hardest cars with one of the most difficult vinyls to work with and it’s the most expensive vinyl out right now. If you overheat it, it turns white, if you overstretch it, it turns white, just doing the mirrors on my wife’s car was difficult enough I don’t think it’s gonna stretch the way I need it to. It probably took an hour per mirror to do, and I had to rip it off in the end. Vinyl has its limits as to what it can do as far as stretching, it can only go so far, I’m gonna keep practicing and take more time to work with this material.
I was referred to this customer by a previous customer and friend. Her miata was hot, and not in a good way. The customer was finding it difficult to cool the car off, clear glass and a convertible top, I can imagine. So I spoke to her about the differences in the films and she decided on my CXP Suntek line which keeps out 53 and 56% of the heat, quite a bit better than no protection at all. Her husband was able to bring the car to his work and I met him up in the early morning to take care of them. It should make a big difference in the car.
I installed the film on this car about a couple weeks ago, I think it was the windiest day of the year, perfect for making tint kites. I’m a mobile service business so I’m out in the elements, Tinting glass, fighting mother nature in epic battles, some days, most days I get the point this day she got me. The gust from above came and grabbed my film as I was installing it, I was so focused on getting a pet hair out that the film had caught, that I didn’t see the small crease that had happened. I told the customer the usual, give it a couple days to dry and it should look good. Well a week later she called and said there was a line in the film, I checked her schedule against mine and got out there a couple days later to fix the window, no charge to her, she was happy to get it fixed, I should have spotted it first, but sometimes that’s what happens when your fighting dirty with Mother nature and she was being viscous that day!
Not only has it been a long time since I’ve written anything, been a little busy, but it’s been a long time since I had seen this customer. He used to work next to a shop I would stop at he always had a smile and was just a really nice guy. He had switched jobs and years went by 6,7 maybe more, wow time is flying, well he bought a new car, a 2017 Ford Explorer, and he likes to protect his interior as well as his possessions. He found out about my company and didn’t hesitate to call, it was great to hear from him, we made a time for me to come to his home and tint his Explorer. It’s alot more convenient to sit at home on your couch getting your windows tinted with a mobile service rather than sitting in some dusty waiting room. Plus you have all the amenities of… Home! He got all the windows done even the tinted glass behind the front doors to get that extra protection from heat and UV. We kept the front doors legal and we darkened the back slightly as well, plus a visor on the front windshield and it’s good to go. The car looked great, from brand new cars to your older cars All Under Wraps can take care of you!
