Cooling off an Airstream

I had a meeting with a local paint and bodywork owner, and we spoke about Tinting his Airstream camper. We disused his concerns about wanting privacy especially when camping and the amount of heat coming into the camper, Sunteks CXP film was chosen for its high heat protection and the privacy it will give while having crystal clear visibility. This Airstream had a considerable amount of hinges and frameless windows to cut around. When this silver bullet was done being tinted the A/C will be able to work easier and not as often to keep the camper cool and comfortable now. The corner windows were extremely difficult to shrink the film to get that curved shape but everything looks great now.

Kia got some Soul

Got a phone call and the young man has a Kia Soul that he purchased black gloss vinyl for, he and someone else attempted to try and do the wrap and realized they bit off a little too much. So we were contacted to install the customers vinyl, he brought the car over and dropped it and the vinyl off for us to get started on. He had told me that he had waxed the car so all that had to be taken off and a good wipe down with alcohol to get it nice and clean before we could wrap. After that it was just a matter of stretching and squeegeeing to push out the air. The finished product looks great the roof looks like glass now, it’s amazing how vinyl can change the look of the car. And if he ever gets tired of having it on there it can be removed and he can rest assured the paint under the vinyl is protected from fading and rock chips and other small damaging debris that might damage the paint.

Long trips across Alligator Alley film is a must

I was contacted by this gentleman who took frequent trips across Alligator Alley, he has the little old lady story for his Lincoln Towncar, older car with little mileage to and from the grocery store and now it’s in his possession. He was referred to me by the manager JJ, at Modern Auto Air, this customer loves to be personally referred to someone that he does business with, so it was a pleasure to be able to work with him and his wife. He was looking for the best protection he could gain all while staying compliant with Florida law concerning film on vehicles. He decided Suntek CXP film was the right choice with its high heat reduction and 99% ultraviolet light being blocked, even the legal shades will block 53% on the front doors the back is a touch darker it will block 56% of heat, huge increase over clear glass. The car is completely transformed when done, now it’s an efficient people mover and they will be cooler while they ride.

“Because I want Tint that’s why”

I received a call from a woman that was going to be purchasing a new Cadillac Escalade, when talking on the phone she said she was getting the car in the next couple days and wanted Tint because, well she just wanted it that’s why. I laughed and said well alright, call me when you have the vehicle and I’ll come right out to your work and take care of you. We spoke the night before and arranged to come out the next morning and install. She chose to go with Sunteks CXP film for its high heat reduction and the privacy aspect of the film is very popular. Upon looking at the interior I noticed suede, leather and real wood absolutely beautiful, definitely needed protection from the sun but also from the water I have to use to install the film, so I wrapped the interior with a plastic tarp all taped down to protect the delicate materials on the door panel. All finished Tinting and the exterior looks very classy, the interior looks just as good as when I took possession of the vehicle, if not a little better thanks to the film. We also spoke about still installing a light shade on the back of the vehicle as well to benefit from as little as 44% more heat being blocked while still having clear visibility.

Customer tries to remove own film

These customers were great, they had some platinum film on their Honda Civic that was getting hard to see thru so she tried removing the film herself, and did a pretty good job until she got to the bottom of the rear window, that’s where it got difficult. It’s very tight in this small space, so I was called in to finish the job. After much discussion with my customer about what would be right for his needs he decided he wanted the most heat protection possible. So we spoke about Sunteks CXP film, he could now block 56% of the heat, making it alot easier to cool the vehicle using the a/c. The customer was great, he set up a tent to keep me in the shade, turned on the tunes to keep the tinter happy, a happy tinter is a good tinter. It helped out alot and it was appreciated. First task was the old film needed to be removed this is always the hardest part, all the film needs to be removed then all the remaining glue and residue. I chose to use a steamer to heat the film with moisture to soften the glue and make removing the old film alot safer on the rear defroster lines and get the film off in as close to one piece as possible. Once all the old film was removed and glass cleaned the new CXP film was installed and the heat blocking had begun. While we were there he had a Mazda miata that he also wanted done, so we took care of those windows as well. We have already discussed another vehicle that the window has film that might need to be replaced in the future, my wife and i look forward to working with them again, great people.

Not a cheaper film

On this Toyota Camry, the customer decided that the heat protection and the cost were the most important things to consider when choosing film. So we discussed using Suntek Carbon film, with his film choice he is rejecting 44% of the heat coming into his car. The film also gives a nice smoked look to the glass for privacy and will also protect his interior with 99% UV light being blocked. The Carbon film is a cheaper alternative to Sunteks CXP line, but is in no way a cheap film, the carbon film is still backed by a lifetime warranty.

Tennessee bound GTI

This customer was tired of driving around in a car that felt like a fishbowl. Sunteks cxp film was his choice for high heat reduction and the privacy he would gain with the film. So I rushed down to get him taken care of before his trip back up north. The car looks amazing now, the blue paint on the car and the smoked look on the windows gives the car a refined look. Now the temperatures in Tennessee will be even easier to deal with now that 56% of the heat is being blocked from entering the vehicle.

Family day

Today I was able to take care of some of my family members with there vehicles that needed to be saved from the heat. First car is a Dodge Challenger, the problem the owner of this car was facing was the frameless windows jump down and up when the door is opened and the previous film installer left the film too short so when the window jumped up or down it was catching the film and making a horrible noise. Problem solved cut the film a little longer and it will go below the rubber gasket that it was rubbing on previously. Also looking out the rear window was difficult to do thick defroster lines and blurry film. I had to sand down the defroster lines in order to make the film adhere as good as possible. So all the old film was removed and Suntek cxp film was installed. I’ve already heard from the customer and he said “it’s much cooler in the car now”. Now the car has the looks and the protection that it needed.

My next car for the day was a mini cooper convertible. For the day’s when the top stays up, that’s when window film is most important. This car as well received the Suntek cxp treatment getting a 56% reduction in heat, huge difference for the hot days in Florida. Gives a much better look for this little pocket rocket with the black paint and smoked film.

Safety in mind

After my eye Dr. saw the benefits of a safety film she immediately wanted her new townhome protected as well. She had been broken into on several occasions and was tired of the stress and worry about being violated and stolen from at her business, many expensive eyeglass frames were stolen not to mention broken glass everywhere from the window. A clear safety film was installed to perfect her office while still allowing customers to see into it. On her home however she was still worried about the protection from break in and storm related breakage, but she was also worried about the amount of heat coming into her home. She liked the natural light very much and it was hard to sway her but we decided to go with Sunteks syds25 for its great heat reduction 68% and it makes everything look more natframe the glare is reduced the heat is being stopped at the glass instead of slowly getting absorbed into the home. It’s like a pair of polarized glasses for your home. Now she has all the protection from the sun and it’s damaging rays and the safety of holding the glass together and in the frame in the event of breakage. We also did a specialty film made to give the look of stained glass without the high cost, it instantly changes the way the entry looks.
